Data entry tutorial
This tutorial is designed to lead new users through the process of creating of a recipe book, a chapter and a recipe in Bartender's Companion. By following these steps carefully you will become familiar with the major features of the recipe interface.
Note: These tutorials were designed to be performed in order.
- Select the Recipe Navigator tab.
How?

Create a recipe book (click here to learn how).
- On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Book.
- Click the Book tab.
- Type the My Recipe Book in the Book Name box.
- Click OK.

Create a chapter.
- On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Chapter
- Type the My Chapter in the Chapter Name box.
- In the Book box, select My Recipe Book.
- Under , click Top level chapter.
- Click OK.

Open the new recipe dialog.
- On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Recipe.

Enter the recipe properties.
- Click the Recipe tab.
- Type the Gimlet in the Recipe Name box.
- Click the Chapter ellipsis button and select My Chapter from the Select Chapter dialog.
- Type the 3.25 in the Price box.
- Click the Recipe Type ellipsis button and select Cocktail in the Recipe Type dialog.

Enter the recipe ingredients.
- Click the Ingredients tab.
- Type 2 in the Quantity column.
- Type oz in the Unit column.
- Type gin in the Ingredient column.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 with the following ingredients.
2 tsp Rose's Lime Juice
1 lime slice

Enter the recipe procedure.
- Click the Procedure tab.
- Type the following in the Procedure box: Using a shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients. Shake well.
- Repeat step 2 with the following text: Strain into a chilled cocktail glass Garnish with a lime slice.

Enter the recipe author information.
- Click the Author tab.
- Type Manitoba Liquor Control Commission in the Source box.
- Type www.mlcc.mb.ca in the Web Page box.
- Click OK.

Create a recipe ingredient heading.
